Eric Kornacki, Co-founder and Executive Director

Eric_headshotEric is proud to be a Colorado native, and an avid environmentalist. Eric has a natural curiosity for the world around him, loves to ask deep questions, and is a life-long learner. Eric has a B.A. in Economics and a minor in International Studies from the University of Denver, where he participated in experiential learning programs in Western Europe, Albania, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. While finishing his studies, he worked as a coffee roaster and barista at a local Fair Trade coffee shop, where he engaged in issues around economics, development, and fair trade. Perhaps a sign of things to come, Eric started and led a campus-wide sustainability movement called SustainableDU. Right before graduating, his work paid off as the university signed onto a nation-wide Climate Commitment, and committed to many sustainable reforms. This successful experience was just the confidence and direction he needed to dream of starting Revision International.

Adam Kuperman, Program Director

kupermanAdam learned at a young age that education is priceless - something in life that an individual can earn on their own, and something that no one can ever take away.  Adam studied finance at the University of Oregon and completed his degree at the University of Iowa.  In May of 2011 he completed his Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver.  Adam became very aware of societal inequalities while living in Chicago and has made it a goal to help bring social justice to the forefront of his career.  Revision International is a perfect home for Adam as he is able to connect with community residents on a personal level, and help develop solutions to make a high quality of life a reality for as many individuals as possible.  When not helping develop programs and managing urban farms, Adam enjoys spending his time working on his house, snowboarding, hiking, and enjoying live music.

Chris Sparks, Energy Efficiency Program Manager

Chris_Headshot

Chris started his career as a residential framer after studying business administration at Adams State College.  Framing custom homes up to 6,000 sf he quickly learned important skills in delivering a project in time and on budget.  After a few years he landed a job as a trim carpenter, where he learned to hone his fine woodworking skills on everything from custom cabinets, and bookcases to more intricate projects such as custom doors and banisters.  After five years in the residential construction business he made the move to the commercial side.

He was hired by a commercial contractor as a project engineer for a 10 million dollar ground up K-12 school.  During this time he also passed his LEED accreditation exam where his passion and his career in green building began.  After that he was promoted to Project Manager where he managed several projects ranging from $500,000 to $1.5 million.

Feeling he could put his green building knowledge and experience to better uses he took a job with Revision International. He helped launch their Energy Efficiency program and truly enjoys working with people in the community to discover the best methods to reduce energy use.  Working with Revision has truly been an eye opening experience for him, and he is grateful for the opportunity to help them in their mission.

When he isn't working he enjoys spending time with his wife and son in the great Colorado outdoors, snowboarding, and fly fishing.  He is always up for a day on the river so  shoot him an email if you need a fishing buddy.

Matilde Garcia, Promotora

"Being a Promotora has helped me to eat healthier and to teach my children the same. Additionally, I have involved them in my work, and they now know how to plant and cultivate a garden." –Matilde

Antonia Garcia, Promotora

"To be a Promotora is a great responsibility, and one I take very seriously. Initially, I was nervous because I had never done anything like this before. However, after Revision’s trainings and over time, my confidence grew. I like to be a Promotora because I know that I am helping other people to grow their own healthy food, so that they can live a better life." - Antonia

Perla Mendez, Promotora

"I am very excited and happy to work at Revision International because it has given me the opportunity to try a different line of work. Before I became a Promotora, I knew only a little about gardening. After the Revision trainings, however, I now know more, and I learn something new everyday. I am very happy because I can see the results of my work almost on a daily basis as the plants grow and produce vegetables and because I can teach the community how to eat better and to live a health life. In Revision....they have provided us with a wonderful organization to work for and with the confidence that we need to do our work.... My fellow Promotores and I work as a team, so that the organization can grow and help more families. I know that in any organization, there are disagreements, but in our’s there are very few. Our team welcomes all opinions. I would again like to reaffirm how happy I am to work at Revision—it makes me very proud. – Perla
